The first step to show the true cost MUST be to tax aviation fuel, thereby making the aircraft operators and users pay for the damage they cause and reduce the amount of aircraft use, removing the need for expansion. Any aviation tax must also be high to recoup the money lost through it's not being taxed for so long. Revenue from the tax must be used to alleviate the environmental problems caused by the aviation industry (both military and civil). |
