| 1887 | David McDonough | I am opposed to any further development of existing airports or the creation of any new commercial ones. Aircraft play a large part in causing global warming and the Government should be cutting back on aircraft not expanding. I am concerned about the social and environmental damage the proposed increase in flights will cause. The Government should tax the industry in line with other transport industries this would reduce the rate and level of growth and encourage people to use other forms of transport. The Government accepts the case for the congestion charging of road transport. Why not similar for aviation? I will support local opposition groups both financially and by attending rallies/demonstrations. |
